The Association of Indian Zoo & Wildlife Veterinarians (AIZWV) was conceptualised during the landmark First International Seminar on Zoo & Wild Animals held in 1991 in Bangalore.
Officially registered in December 1999, AIZWV serves as an umbrella organization representing over 350 accredited life members. These members include veterinarians with diverse expertise; ranging from zoo and free ranging wildlife medicine to academicians, scientists, and eminent research scholars.
The AIZWV has a profound history of collaborative conferences that have covered diverse aspects of wildlife veterinary medicine. Through collaboration, education, and publication of cutting-edge research, the association aims to address challenges ranging from wildlife diseases to disease ecology and conservation medicine.
